Remember the giant scarf from a few weeks ago? It's on display on a fence for the annual Riverfest celebration. It's not our project, but we helped with it. It took us about an hour and a half to put it up. Luckily for us, someone else will be taking it down next week, after the festivities. (assuming that it survives....)
This guy and his brother helped roll out the last several yards.

Go "like" our library!
If you're on facebook, click the link below and "like" them. This is our local library and they are HUGE supporters of the Bluffside Bombers. Let's see how many non-locals we can get to join. If you can, leave a post on their wall telling them that we sent you. :)

TV, newspapers, Flickr, oh my!
Saturday was a crazy day! We had committed to volunteer with the yearly knitting day at the library which, for the first time, was in June, on Worldwide Knit in Public Day. It also happened to be the 1st annual International Yarn Bombing Day.
We don't usually ask for permission, but did talk to the library director about this. She said she didn't want to be involved but if things appeared, it would be fine. :) Our plan was to put things up with twist ties for the day and take them down at the end of the day so they could be sewn on elsewhere at another date. Well....we got asked to leave the indoor pieces there and to also sew the monster feet onto the bike rack. I also got permission to cover the entire rack. That should keep me busy! Stay tuned for updates on that project. Luckily, I found out about that just after I was asked to set out several boxes of acrylic yarn that was to be given away. I grabbed a bunch of bright Red Heart.
During the 10:00 news that night, I saw this: http://www.wxow.com/Global/story.asp?S=14888677
This morning, I went to get the Sunday paper off of the steps and saw this: http://lacrossetribune.com/image_a5b3fc1d-81b0-588d-8d60-6817449e4f6d.html
Later in the day, someone from the library posted these pics on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tinfoilraccoon/sets/72157626820808497/with/5825125317/

Bombs that I forgot to post...oops.
These were done on May 13 for the newspaper interview.
The white piece is still on this bike rack but the feet are gone.
This was removed because of the grumpy park & rec guy...it will make a return at some point....somewhere.
My favorite piece so far. The spiked collar was so cool!

A Memorial Day bomb from Wham-O Knits
One of the Bluffside Bombers, Wham-O Knits, placed this park bench bomb on Memorial Day. Very colorful!
