More press. :)

The local food co-op (http://www.peoplesfoodcoop.com/) mentioned us in their latest newsletter: Co-op shopper The story is at the bottom of page 3. Does anyone know who the mystery pumpkin bomber is? Maybe it's Slip-Knitty, the other "mystery bomber" in town.

Halloween yarn bomb!

I'd been thinking about this bike rack since I first saw it this summer...before it was installed outside. I knew that I would have to bomb it at some point. I mean, LOOK at it!

I spend a few weeks working on my idea, hoping that it would turn out as I imagined it. I took everything down there earlier today and started with this:

I did this one next. I had some help with the knitting on this one from a new bomber.

What's Halloween without a jack-o-lantern?

Boo!

Here's a shot of the whole thing. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

The Woolly Walk Along

A while back, I heard about a big yarn bombing project in New Zealand. A knitter calling herself  Knitty Graffity was asking for pieces to put on the railing around the wharf in Auckland for the Rugby World Cup which is being held there.

Here's a link to an article about it: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/news/article.cfm?c_id=6&objectid=10750575

Be sure to watch this video. http://www.localist.co.nz/milfordtakapunadevonport/articles/devonport-wharf-gets-woolly Our piece (black with colored flowers) is first visible at :19. There's a close-up of it not long after. Starting at :41 it's on the screen for about 10 seconds while being sewn onto the pole. Very cool.

You can read more about the project at Knitty Graffity's blog: http://knittygraffity.blogspot.com/

We have a mystery bomber in our midst!

While walking through Riverside Park today, I spotted this yarn bomb. I've never seen any around here, other than the ones we put up, so it was really cool. While taking a picture of it, a lady walking by said "They're doing that all over. Isn't it cool?!"

The tag says "Slip-Knitty". If you are, or know, Slip-Knitty, send us an email: bluffsidebombers (at) gmail.com

The Pump House

Word got to us that The Pump House was looking for a little yarn bombing action for Krazy Daze. The chance to put up some bombs without worrying about anything was very nice. Not only that, I had steps to sit on, shade AND a slight breeze....not to mention all of the positive comments. I may do some bombing there every day. It's good for my mental health. We will probably be putting more stuff up outside in the future.

The scarf is at the river!

Remember the giant scarf from a few weeks ago? It's on display on a fence for the annual Riverfest celebration. It's not our project, but we helped with it. It took us about an hour and a half to put it up. Luckily for us, someone else will be taking it down next week, after the festivities. (assuming that it survives....)

This guy and his brother helped roll out the last several yards.

Go "like" our library!

If you're on facebook, click the link below and "like" them. This is our local library and they are HUGE supporters of the Bluffside Bombers. Let's see how many non-locals we can get to join. If you can, leave a post on their wall telling them that we sent you. :)
